Playing Daily Fantasy World Cup on FanDuel and DraftKings

World Cup Soccer on DraftKings and FanDuel

Saturday marked the start of the biggest event in sports, the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Not only do these soccer matches represent some amazing soccer drama but due to recent strides in DFS over the last couple years, the World Cup will be available to play for soccer fans who love daily fantasy sports.

FanDuel and DraftKings both have added daily fantasy soccer contests over the last few years and because of a wider acceptance of DFS, the options for different types of DFS games are greater than ever!

Let’s take a look at what is being offered at the two largest DFS sites for World Cup action this summer.

DraftKings

DraftKings is offering daily fantasy sports users the largest selection of DFS World Cup contests. Fans can find World Cup contests under the “Soc” tab.

Game Styles: World Cup contests are available in both Classic and Showdown styles. Classic contests allow users to create a 8-man roster while staying under the salary cap. Showdown contests are DFS games from the same game where all players are in a Flex position.

Slates: DraftKings highlights two-man slates on most days – an All Day slate and a WC Late slate, consisting of the latest two games. Showdown contests — single game contests — will be available for all games during the World Cup.

Types: Main contests types at DraftKings are tournaments, leagues, head to head, 50/50s, double-ups and multipliers.

FanDuel

Although FanDuel doesn’t offer the broad selection of World Cup contests that DraftKings does, there is still a lot of World Cup action to take part in.

FanDuel’s World Cup contests can be found under the FIFA tab with contests available each day. Be sure to check out the World Soccer Pick’em each day of the World Cup, which allows DFS users to play for free have a chance to win large daily jackpots. Free World Soccer Pick’Em is available at the top of the FanDuel Lobby.

Game Styles: FanDuel offers two different game styles – a Full Roster and a Single Game. Full rosters Contests are 8-man rosters with a traditional salary cap while Single Game contests are 5-man rosters with a captain that will earn 1.5 the regular points.

Slates: FanDuel offers can All-Day slate which comprises all of the games of the day, a Main Slate which removes the earliest games and a mid-day “Late” slate. Slates are generally limited at FanDuel for Single Game contests.

Types: Users can find contests in tournaments, multipliers, head to heads, 3-100 player league contests as well as 50/50s. Guaranteed contests for Classic games can be seen up to $30k.
