The Player Stock Exchange — or PlayerSX for short — is a Canada Delaware-based company that offers a unique type of fantasy sports. Instead of drafting players for a DFS lineups, players are in a similar way to how you would purchase stocks on the stock market.
Exchanges are based on daily and season-long markets with markets currently available for NHL and NFL where users have the option to create “portfolios” of players from one or multiple sports. According to PlayerSX MLB and NBA markets will launch sometime in 2018/2019.
Players who sign-up to PlayerSX will receive a 5% bonus on a first deposit that is instantly awarded to your account.
PlayersSX is available to players who are at least 18 years old in 40 states. You must be 19 in Nebraska or 21 if you are from Massachusetts.
Users from the following states are not eligible play at PlayerSX. These are states commonly restricted by most DFS sites.

How PlayerSX Works
Since PlayerSX is much different than any other type of tradional fantasy sports site you may have played (DraftKings, FanDuel), it’s important to first know how the basics of how PlayerSX works before diving in with both feet.
1) PlayerSX is a real money fantasy sports market. Once you have created a PlayerSX account account and make your deposit, you will be able to buy and sell players in any open market.
2) You begin participating in PlayerSX by creating a “portfolio” of players during the IPO period of the market (which can be either daily or seasonally, depending upon what is offered). You then can purchase shares of your favorite players or players whose value you think will rise at current market prices.
3) Once you have selected your players and added the number of shares for that player, you will need to confirm the purchase.
During the market session, you will be able to trade, buy shares or sell your shares using the PlayerSX “Trading Floor.”
Once a market closes, you will be paid out on outstanding shares. Shares will be paid out for players on teams that make the playoffs in season markets or win their games in daily markets.
Market “Dailies” are currently only available for NHL games on Saturdays and NFL games on Sundays, while seasonal markets last for an entire season. Shares during the season — and after the IPO – are moved and purchased through user-to-user transactions.
How to Play
PlayerSX says that the PlayerSX market is set up so players can get as little or as much out of the Fantasy Sports Stock Market as they want. If you want to be engaged with the service and play it throughout the day (like a day trader), you can do so. You can also check your portfolio much more infrequently (much like a long term investor).
In addition, like the stock market, you can use a variety of different strategies. If you want to try a high-risk/high reward strategy or one that is more conservative, you can choose your own specific style based on your preferences and what you find works best for you.
Unlike standard DFS, player portfolios can even be comprised of players from different sports.
To attempt to anticipate the future value of a player, you will need to consider player points earned for the session (daily or seasonally) and also account for the chances the player’s team makes the playoffs (seasonl) or wins their game (daily). Values during the session are determined by the buyers and sellers participating in the market. Like most markets, the value is determined by supply and demand and considerations of potential future value.
You will only be paid out for players whose team wins the game or makes the playoffs. A player who finishes the session without accomplishing either will result in $0 a price. Market values naturally take into account these possibilities.
PlayerSX Trading Floor
The PlayersSX Trading Floor is where the magic happens. You will be able to buy and sell your players, make trades and add players to a “wanted” list.
The Initial Public Offering, or IPO, is when an unlimited number of shares can be purchased. After the IPO, shares are bought, sold and traded based on an existing pool of shares.
For season markets, the IPO will generally last into the second week whereas in daily IPOs, the shares can be purchased up until the first game of the day.
New players who sign up to PlayerSX will receive a 5% bonus on a first deposit, up to a maximum deposit of $500 – a $25 bonus. The bonus is added to your account immediately as “Bonus Credits,” which can be played used on PlayersSX.
Note that you will only be able to take advantage of the bonus once. Withdrawals are not allowed on Bonus Credits, but you can withdraw winnings that come as the result of Bonus Credits.
That’s it – PlayerSX boasts that there is “no fine print” with hidden terms that are designed to trick players. While we don’t love the fact the bonus is only a 5% match with a maximum up to $25, we love the fact this bonus is awarded instantly. Simply make a deposit and get your bonus instantly added to your account.
A PlayerSX mobile app does not yet exist for either iOS or Android, but the website is optimized for mobile with a rumored app sometimes in early 2018.
Many fantasy sports sites offer some form of app and we suspect that as the site grows, that they will add a robust mobile app. For now, the mobile web version should be sufficient for most users.
PlayerSX Deposit and Withdrawals
Deposits on PlayerSX can be made with Visa or Mastercard. Minimum deposits start at $25 with maximums up to $1000. You can quickly make a deposit by choosing any pre-selected amount — $25, $50 or $100 — or enter a custom deposit amount. Don’t forget to consider the PlayerSX bonus when making your first depositing (you receive the maximum bonus when depositing $500 or more).
PlayeSX withdrawals can be made through Paypal on a minimum withdrawal of $50. PlayerSX will need your personal information in order to process withdrawals. You may need to add this information to your account when making a withdrawal for the first time. Withdrawals are usually processed within 3-5 days.
PlayerSX Customer Support
The PlayerSX support department is a bit lacking in contacting options but the customer service department will generally answer questions within 24 hours. Users of PlayerSX can reach the site via a simple contact form or firstname.lastname@example.org email address where they will be able to ask a variety of general and account specific questions.
The contact form is available within the PlayerSX website. Simply submit your name, email address as well as the subject and a message.
We hope that as PlayerSX grows that they will add additional contact options, but the FAQ does a solid job of explaining how the site works an will be able to answer many general questions.
PlayerSX is a unique form of fantasy sports that is looking to find a nice by differentiate themselves from other fantasy sports sites. As DFS continues to get bigger and enjoy widespread regulation, a fantasy sports stock market seems like a service that fantasy sports fans can get behind.
While it doesn’t have the greatest traffic at the moment and is not yet available for all sports — and all game days — a site like PlayerSX will drastically improve when more players join the site. If you love DFS, you will definitely want to give this site a try.
