Confused on how to play? The tutorial here is bit out of date but it should give you a good idea of the basics of how to play Monkey Knife Fight:
How to play Monkey Knife Fight
As mentioned, Monkey Knife Fight is a prop-based form of DFS. Instead of selecting a lineup of players from a variety of games — although this option is also available as well — you will usually make your selections from a single game.
Buy-ins for Monkey Knife Fight contests run the gamut from freerolls to buy-ins up to $1,000. The prizes per contests will depend on the number of entrants and the particular rules of the contests.
Within each sport offered at Monkey Knife Fight, there are three main types of contests available through Monkey Knife Fight.
Over/Under – If you are confused with Monkey Knife Fight, the site’s over/under contests are probably a good, easy place to start. As the name suggests, in these contests, you will need to make a series of selections where you will try to predict whether the presented player will achieve under or over the stat detailed. If your predictions are correct, you will win the listed prize.
Stat Shootout – In these contests, you need to select a predetermined number of players to reach the stated stat goal.
Rapid Fire – With Rapid Fire contests, you will need to make a series of player vs player selections where you will need to pick the player who will have the highest number in a particular stat for the game, usually included with a spread (+/- points) to make the sides equal.
In the case of all three major contests types, before you make your selections, you will be told the threshold for winning the contest as well as the prize. In general, the more selections required to correctly predict the contest, the greater your buy-in will be multiplied for your prize. Some games offer minor tweaks and rule changes. Make sure to give the site a good look around to find a game that sounds interesting or something you have a knack of predicting.
There is a benefit of Monkey Knife Fight versus other daily fantasy sports that is probably worth a mention. If any of the players involved in the contest you joined do not play, that contest will be canceled and refunded. The requirements for a player not playing, will vary slightly by sport. For example, in the NFL, a player must be listed as inactive for the game. In the case of the NBA or NHL player, the player must play for zero minutes while in MLB and soccer the player simply has to not start. In golf, the golfer must not record any stats.
Once submitting your selections you will not be able to edit. However, you may cancel your submission from your dashboard within the first 30 minutes of submitting your picks.
