Launched in the mid-2010s, DRAFT is one of the newer daily fantasy sports sites in existence. Operated in New York City by StarStreet Inc, they are a longtime player in the DFS industry. DRAFT (which is also referred to as PlayDraft.com and Draft.com) offers DFS fans a different type of daily fantasy sports than they may be used to — one that is very well suited to mobile.
Ditching the traditional salary cap, most of DRAFT’s contests are based on snake player drafts that run daily, weekly or through an entire season. Although DRAFT still trails DraftKings, FanDuel and other DFS sites by some margin, the site is quickly gaining popularity for its unique interpretation on DFS. “Dream Team” are another form DFS contests that are offered on DRAFT and are more similar to traditional DFS – but without the salary cap.
Support is currently available for NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and PGA contests, with a variety of contests types available depending on your preference and skill level.
When registering through DailyFantasySports.Codes DRAFT players are eligible to receive a $3 DRAFT.com bonus after signing up and depositing for the first time.
DRAFT is available to players in Canada and 40 states, with the exception of the following:

DRAFT participants will be asked to verify your location occasionally from the web-based or mobile platform.
DRAFT Sports Offered
DRAFT offers daily fantasy sports contests for the four major sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) as well as Golf contests. You will need to draft your rosters by filling up the following roster spots.
- NFL: QB, RB, RB, WR/TE, WR/TE
- NBA: G, G, F, F, C
- MLB: 2 pitchers, 3 hitters
- NHL: G, D, F, F, F
And people ask us why we don't have kickers…
— DRAFT (@PlayDraft) October 6, 2017
One thing you may notice is that DRAFT offers one of the more simple roster constructions from any DFS site, which are comparable to some of the more recreational-player friend contests recently introduced at FanDuel and DraftKings.
DRAFT is sticking to the biggest sports, but we imagine that if the site continues to grow, that more sports will be on horizon.
DRAFT Contests and Prize Pools
Most of DRAFT’s contests are limited to small entry games with anywhere from 2-10 entrants — these contests represent the “core” of DRAFT. There are also many other types of contests at PlayDraft.com, offering players argubly the most diverse set of contests on any DFS site.
Head to Head – DFS contest pitting one team against another. These games are appealing due to the fact the DRAFT starts right after 2 players have entered the contest, allowing for a quick snake style draft.
Multiplayer Drafts – Anywhere from 3-10 participants can enter Multiplayer drafts. Contests with up to 5 players pay in a Winner Take All format, whereas contests with more than 6 participants will have multi-player payouts.
Dream Team – Dream Team Contests are guaranteed contests which allow you to select your lineup on your own time before the start of the slate’s first games. The rosters are limited to 5 DFS players and a participant in the contest can select players that have been selected by other teams. The contests are limited to one participant per contest (no multi-entries).
Since there is no salary cap for these contests, its wise to pick a team that will score a lot of points that isn’t necessarily the most obvious lineup (for instance, those who have the highest DRAFT point projections).
Guaranteed Contests – Want to ensure your multi-participant contest will start? Play the guaranteed prize contests — which are signified with a green “G” in the lobby — that will award a guaranteed prize regardless of how many participants enter.
Tournaments – Multi-stage contests that are in a bracket-style tournament format. You must be one of the top teams to advance to the next round.
While DRAFT offers a large variety of standard contests that anybody can join, they also allow participants to enter “Beginner” and “Experienced” contests.
Expert Drafts – These contests remove the players with the highest projected for a given slate, meaning that participants in the contests must pick from a pool of lower-tiered players.
Beginner Contests – Contests that are signified by a green “B,” beginner contests are $1 drafts that are only accessible to players who have entered fewer than 20 drafts in one sport or less than 50 total drafts.
Alternatively, DRAFT also offers a season-long “Best Ball” contest, which will award points over the first 16 weeks of the season. DRAFT participants will select 18 players to their rosters with only 8 players scoring each week.
DRAFT Interface – How it Works
Unlike other DFS sites that require you stay under a salary cap, at DRAFT you will primarily engage in a 2-12 player “snake” drafts that will generally take under 10 minutes to compete. The unique style of DRAFT contests promises that a player’s chances of winning are up to 80% better than other DFS sites, according to DRAFT.
What is a Snake Draft? A common draft system in standard fantasy sports leagues, snake drafts aim to even the playing field by giving those who pick lasts another pick. In a 3-person draft, the order would go 1,2,3 and 3,2,1 and back to 1,2,3 and so on.
Although these drafts are more engaging and immersive, having to wait around for additional players to join the draft is an drawback. Make sure that you will be around for a period of time waiting for the draft to start as well as complete your draft.
When participating in a DRAFT “draft,” you can choose rosters in a number of ways including “Autopick,” adding players to a queue or drafting players live as your turn comes up. During the draft, you will be given 30 seconds to make each pick with a notification sent when your turn is up. “Smart Auto-Pick” is also available which will select players from positions your opponents have not yet picked.
The “Auto-Enter” feature enables you to set pre-draft rankings for multiple contests automatically, allowing you to enter dozens of contests at once.
Once your DRAFT lineup has been set, you will be able to see the players that were drafted by each of your opponents.
With DRAFT.com “Dream Team” contests, you will not need to make a real-time commitment, which will be preferable to those on a schedule.
A note on Badges
If you want to avoid professional or experienced players, DRAFT offers a way for you to avoid identify these players through badges. “Experienced” players will have a black shield over their avatar. These players have entered 500 total drafts or have won $2500 at least six times. A “Highly Experienced” player will have a red shield over their avatar and be given to opponents that have entered 1,000 drafts or won 4+ prizes of $1,000 or more.
Although the DRAFT web interface is smooth and easy to use, the DRAFT mobile app is highly regarded among users for its intuitive use, playability and integration across the web and mobile platforms.
You can download the DRAFT mobile app from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play store.
DRAFT Review – Drafting and Scoring
Unlike some other daily fantasy sports sites, Draft allows you to take advantage of “Player Swaps” in the event of a drafted player changing status. For example, if a player starts as In, Probable, Questionable, Game Time Decision, Day to Day, or No Status and then changes to inactive status (such as Doubtful or Out), you will be allowed to swap that player out before that player’s game starts.
For MLB Player Swaps, if the status of a pitcher changes before the start of the game (for example, from Probable to Out) you will be able to swap the pitcher.
Dream Team and Best Ball contests are not eligible for Player Swaps.

DRAFT Customer Support
DRAFT customer support is primarily available through email. You can contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org, which is also linked from your “My Account” page for easy access.
DRAFT also maintains a Facebook and Twitter page, which you may be able to use for more broad customer service issues. However, We recommend contacting traditional support through email.
While DRAFT probably shouldn’t be your first DFS site to try — and probably isn’t if you are reading this review — it is definitely worth checking out. The simplified contests and unique draft style is different than what you may be used to, but can actually be a lot of fun.
More seasoned players can certainly find an advantage of these games though, especially given that the site is likely to continue to be soft, but recreational and casual players will also find these games quite enjoyable and easy to play.
