FanDuel Changes Include Rebranding Message, FanDuel Bill of Rights

“This is fantasy sports built for every sports fan.” That’s the promise of the newly designed FanDuel that not only features new branding but also a FanDuel Bill of Rights which addresses the new regulatory requirements as well as reassure players of the safety and security of DFS.

The new facelift and message focusing comes just in time for the start of the NFL season, which kicks off on September 8th.

SPORTSRICH and New Logo – The FanDuel Rebranding Effort

With the unveiling of the new FanDuel rebranding effort, FanDuel has introduced a new slogan — SPORTSRICH. The slogan aims to put a renewed focus on the love of the game and the entertainment that it brings regardless of the form it takes: “All the hope and the celebration, even the oh-so-close and the agony.”

Make no mistake though – a major part of the FanDuel’s new look and rebranding is related to regulatory progress in the United States over the last year. Indiana, Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Colorado, and Missouri have already regulated daily fantasy sports and more will be coming soon.

Even though the DFS industry is being given the green light in an increasing number of states, the industry is having to abide by a series of new regulations and rules which aim — aside from collecting extra tax dollars — to make the games more secure and safe.

This is something represented in the new FanDuel logo — a shield cleverly made with an “F” and “D”. According to a page announcing the rebranding, the shield stands for “a fair and level playing field,” “fun and excitement for every fan” as well as “protecting and supporting players.”

FanDuel Bill of Rights

With the movement of states regulating DFS, FanDuel has also introduced a “FanDuel Bill of Rights,” which is to remind players that they can continue to expect a safe and secure game that meets the standards set by states that are throwing their support behind the games.

The FanDuel Bill of Rights listed the following players rights:

1- You have the right to a level playing field.
2- It’s your money. Not ours. Plain and simple.
3- You deserve to know the rules before you play.
4- You get to choose how you play.
5- You should know who you are up against.
6- New players have their own place to play.
7- Your questions deserve honest answers.
8- You should get what you expect when you sign-up.
9- You will not play against an employee.
10- You control how much you play

What Does the New FanDuel Look Like?

Despite a noticeable change to the look and feel of the site, there isn’t anything drastically different for users, fundamentally speaking. Basically, if you were comfortable with the interface before, there likely isn’t anything in the new design that will trip you up.

Yes, some players will like the new cleaner look while others will undoubtedly wish they just left it alone. But the reality is that the user interface changes are not much more than a facelift, or a new theme or skin.

Haven’t checked out the new design? Here are a few snapshots of the what the newly designed FanDuel now looks like.

More News from FanDuel

In addition to the news of the FanDuel rebranding, there were a couple other nuggets of interest to players as the 2016-2017 football season approaches.

There had been some hope that kickers would be gone at FanDuel, just like they are at DraftKings. No such luck, unfortunately — kickers will again be a staple of FanDuel lineups for the 2016-2017 season.

FanDuel will also be introducing a “Friends Mode” by the end of August. Friends Mode will merge the world of traditional season-long fantasy sports with daily fantasy sports.

The NFL season is overwhelmingly the most popular time of year for DFS. Look for more news from DFS sites as they try to stand out from the rest of the competition while continuing to meet the ongoing challenges of regulation.
